The short version

WhereFiber earns commissions from some of the internet providers listed on this site. If you click certain links and go on to sign up for service, the provider may pay us a fee. You pay nothing extra, and the price you are offered is not affected.

How it works

Internet providers run their partner programs through third-party advertising networks. We work with CJ Affiliate. Where we join additional networks we will name them here.

When you click an affiliate link, the network records that the visit came from us, usually by setting a cookie in your browser. If you subscribe to a service within that program's tracking window, the provider pays us a commission. Tracking windows vary by program and are commonly between 30 and 90 days.

Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. Links to the FCC, to government resources, and to provider pages where no program exists are ordinary links that earn us nothing.

What this does not change

• Availability data. Which providers appear for an address is determined by FCC National Broadband Map data, not by who pays us. We will not hide a provider because they have no affiliate program, and we will not add one that does not serve an address.
• Ordering and ranking. We do not sell placement. Nobody can pay to be listed above a competitor.
• Your price. Commissions are paid by the provider out of their own marketing budget. Using our links never costs you more.
• What we write. Where we describe a drawback of a service, we describe it whether or not that provider pays us.

The conflict of interest, stated plainly

Some providers pay more than others, and some pay nothing at all. That is a real incentive and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. Our response is to keep availability strictly data-driven and to disclose the relationship wherever it exists, so you can weigh what you read accordingly.

Regulatory basis

This disclosure is provided in line with the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), which requires clear disclosure of material connections between a publisher and the products it recommends.
